Studio FAQs Frequently Asking Questions

We’re in Irvine, CA, just a few minutes from Irvine Spectrum Center and Great Park, with easy access from the 5, 405 and 133 freeways. The studio is by appointment only – all visits, tours, and shoots must be scheduled in advance to avoid interrupting other productions. You can find our full address and map on the Contact page

LOOK AD ME Studio is designed for photo and video production, including advertising campaigns, product shoots, e-commerce, lookbooks, interviews, podcasts, corporate video, content days for marketing teams, and creator sessions. If you’re unsure whether your project is a good fit, please share your plans during the call, and we’ll provide honest advice.

For the main studio (white cyc / green screen / interview setups) we book in blocks:
• Half-day studio rental – up to 6 hours
• Full-day studio rental – up to 12 hours

This gives your team enough time to set up, shoot and wrap without rushing. We don’t offer general hourly studio rental for the main studio.

For the podcast & interview studio, we use a different structure:
• Assisted hourly sessions – 3-hour minimum
(roughly 1 hour to set up, 1 hour to record, 1 hour to wrap)
• Half-day podcast block – 4 hours
• Full-day podcast block – 8–10 hours

So:
• The full studio is booked only in half-day or full-day blocks.
• The podcast studio can be booked hourly (with a 3-hour minimum) or as a larger block if you’re batching multiple episodes

Our studio rates are all-in for a typical studio day. Both half-day and full-day bookings include:
• White cyclorama or green screen
• A basic 3-light setup (3 LED fixtures, stands, simple modifiers)
• Grip essentials (sandbags, apple boxes, stingers, etc.)
• Studio host on site, parking and load-in support
• Basic cyc maintenance and standard cleaning — no separate repaint or cleaning fees

You’re welcome to bring your own cameras, lenses and lighting if you prefer — our equipment and support packages are completely optional.

Additional lighting packages, camera bodies and lenses, teleprompter, motion-control (MoCo) robot and live-streaming setups are available as optional add-ons for a separate fee.

Yes. You’re always welcome to bring your own photographer, videographer and crew and treat the studio as your home base.

If you don’t have your own team, we can also provide optional crew and production support — from photographers and videographers to a small production team built around your project. You can book the studio with or without our production support; it’s completely up to you.

For most brand, agency and production company bookings, we require production insurance and a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming LOOK AD ME Studio (and, if needed, our landlord) as additional insured. This is standard practice for larger crews and higher-value shoots.

For smaller, low-risk shoots with solo photographers or creators, insurance may not be required, but you’ll still sign a studio agreement and follow our safety rules. On the discovery call, we’ll let you know clearly if your project needs a COI or not.

To reserve your date, we typically take a 50% retainer for studio bookings, with the remaining balance due before or on the day of the shoot. The retainer holds the studio for you and is applied to your final invoice.

If you need to reschedule and let us know at least 7 days in advance, we can usually move your booking once and apply your retainer to the new date.

If you cancel your shoot, the retainer is non-refundable, because we’ve been holding the studio and turning away other clients for that time. For last-minute cancellations and no-shows, additional fees may apply, especially if crew or extra services were booked. All of this will be clearly outlined in your estimate and agreement before you confirm.

Yes. For clients who shoot on a regular basis — for example once or twice a month — we offer studio retainer packages with preferred pricing and priority access.

A retainer can include a set number of full studio days or half-days each month, so your team always has a reliable space for campaigns, product shoots, podcasts or content days. Retainers are typically set up for a minimum of a few months and billed monthly, with clear rules around rescheduling and rollover.

If you’re planning ongoing shoots and want a better rate than one-off bookings, please mention it during the discovery call, and we’ll put together a retainer option that fits your schedule and budget.
